Know the AMMO Value of Your Training
LIVE FIRE VALUE. Turning Dry Fire Into Measurable Reality
LaserHIT has always tried to bring purpose into your training.
In earlier versions, we counted your shots by caliber. We tracked totals. We showed activity per practice session. That information was useful, but it was still abstract.
You saw numbers.
Now you see meaning.
With version 5.5.2 on iOS, we introduced the LIVE FIRE VALUE screen. The idea is simple. Connect your dry fire work directly to real-world ammunition costs.
Because ammunition is not static. Over the past five years, ammo prices have moved significantly. Supply shortages, demand spikes, and market fluctuations have made cost awareness part of being a serious shooter. Training is no longer just about time. It is also about budget.
So we asked a practical question.
If you are already doing the work with your rifle or pistol at home, why not see what that work represents in real live-fire value?
Here is how it works.
Every time you complete a drill stage, it is recorded on the LIVE FIRE VALUE screen.
You will see:
Drill Name: Default or Custom, exactly as you created it.
Total Shots: The number of shots registered within completed stages of that drill.
Dollar per Round: This is fully customizable. You can adjust it anytime to reflect the current market price of your ammunition. If your match-grade rifle ammo costs more than bulk range ammo, set it accordingly.
Total: This shows what that drill would have cost you if those shots were fired on a live range.
The system keeps a running total of hits and accumulated live-fire value. You can switch between Active drills or view All drills.
This is not about a gimmick. It is about perspective.
When you see that a week of structured dry fire equals hundreds of dollars in live ammunition, it changes how you look at your training. Not because you are avoiding cost, but because you are maximizing efficiency.
And there is something more important.
When you run a structured drill ten times in one evening, you are building mechanics and decision confidence with your own rifle or pistol. Not a simulator. Not a plastic replica. Your real firearm.
The LIVE FIRE VALUE screen simply makes that effort measurable.
You are not guessing how much work you have done. You are not estimating how much live range time that would require. You see it clearly.
LaserHIT introduces Live Fire Value, a feature that converts your dry fire training into real-world ammunition value. Track completed drill shots, set your cost per round, and see the equivalent live-fire cost of your practice. Train smarter, measure progress, and connect dry fire with real shooting performance.
As ammunition prices shift over time, you can update the cost per round. The data remains realistic. The value remains relevant.
Training is about consistency. Confidence is about confirmation.
The LIVE FIRE VALUE screen connects your daily dry fire effort to real-world shooting economics without removing focus from what matters most.
Your performance. That is the purpose.
Dry fire is practice. Live fire is confirmation.
LIVE FIRE VALUE shows you how the two connect.
Before You Go
You may notice a difference between shot totals in DRILLS and Legacy LaserHIT. Legacy counts every shot. DRILLS count completed stages only. The goal is structured, disciplined training. LIVE FIRE VALUE reflects finished work, not random shots.
