Home Defense. Confidence Built on Three A-Zone Hits

Defensive handgun use is not about perfection.

It is about certainty.

The Home Defense drill focuses on the one outcome that actually matters in a defensive context: placing controlled center-mass hits where they need to go, without hesitation and without overthinking.

This is not a precision exercise.
It is not about tight groups.

It is about proving to yourself that you can deliver three effective A-Zone hits when pressure exists and time is not on your side.

LASERHIT Home defense Drill from start to the end.

What This Drill Is Designed to Build

Confidence in defensive shooting does not come from complexity.

It comes from repetition against a clear standard.

Objective

Fire three shots to center mass. Position: vary, challenge it with barricade and moves around the target.

• Target: A-Zone scoring
• Distance: realistic defensive distance
• Setup: scaled for indoor use

The LaserHIT app calculates and displays the exact real-world firing distance automatically once the target is framed correctly.

Your focus stays on shooting, not setup.

Pass Standard

This drill has one requirement.

All three shots must land inside the A-Zone.

There are no partial passes.
There are no averages.
There is no interpretation.

Either the standard is met or it is not.

Required Setup

This drill uses the LaserHIT B3 target.

You may:
• Use any LaserHIT Training Kit
• Use your own compatible laser device

A stable phone position is required so the system has a clear, consistent view of the target.

Setup Without Friction

In the current version of LaserHIT, setup is intentionally simple.

Once the target is mounted and the phone is aligned:
• Use the plus control to fit the target within the screen edges
• The app recognizes the target automatically
• Scale is confirmed
• The correct firing distance is calculated

No manual tuning required. The system handles the details so you can focus on execution.

Why Distance and Scale Still Matter

This drill simulates real-world defensive distances using scaled targets.

The physical distance in your room may be short, but the training distance is accurate. LaserHIT shows you exactly where to stand before the stage begins.

Every run is consistent.
Every result is comparable.

Consistency is what turns practice into confidence.

Why This Drill Exists

Most defensive encounters:
• Happen close
• Unfold quickly
• Leave no time to correct mistakes

This drill reflects that reality.

Three controlled center-mass hits is a widely accepted defensive standard for a reason. The A-Zone represents effective shot placement under stress.

The random start removes anticipation.
The scoring zones remove ambiguity.

Shots outside the A-Zone fail the stage not because they are “bad,” but because they are less effective when it matters most.

What the Results Tell You

After each stage, LaserHIT shows:
• Which scoring zones were hit
• Whether the standard was met
• How often you meet it over time

The statistics are not there to impress you.

They answer one question only:

Can you do this reliably, not just once?

Final Question

Would your confidence survive a cold start right now?

Answer honestly in comments. One sentence is enough.
