"Legacy Reload" Old School Control Made Easy

LaserHIT introduced the Reload mark on day one, back in 2017. It quickly became a signature element of all LaserHIT targets. This small black square with the LaserHIT logo is more than decoration. It is a convenient control point that lets you reset or restart your practice session directly from the firing line without walking back to the phone. Over time, the Reload mark also became a visual reference that helps align the phone and the target, especially when using scaled targets. On most LaserHIT branded targets it is placed on the right side of the target card. On larger printed sets it may appear as a standalone sheet.

For many users the Reload mark works perfectly. Others, especially those who train with full scale 1:1 targets or custom printed targets, wanted a larger and easier restart area. The standard Reload mark can feel too small for certain setups, yet we did not want to replace the familiar and recognizable icon. The solution was to expand the convenience while keeping the original feature. This is how Legacy Reload was introduced.

Legacy Reload uses an augmented control area that expands the reload function. You can find this option at the bottom of every Practice Range setup screen. Turn it on, and during practice the entire right side of your screen, where your results normally appear, becomes a Reload mark panel. Any laser hit on this panel will restart the stage.

When using Legacy Reload, make sure that none of your targets overlap or extend into this grey panel. Any part of a target placed inside that space will be treated as a reload zone and not as a scoring area. Position your targets so the phone camera sees them on the left or center portions of the screen.

Before You Go

Legacy Reload keeps the simplicity of the original idea while offering more flexibility for different training setups and distances. It gives you a reliable way to stay in rhythm without interrupting your practice flow.
