OBJECTIVE
Fire 3 shots to center mass. Time limit: 3 minutes. Range: 5 yards (see Notes [1])
GOAL
Achieve a group under 6 inches. Time is not a factor.
WHAT YOU NEED
LASERHIT B3 target (scaled) and a LASERHIT Training Kit.
Alternatively, print a free B3 target, use your own laser cartridge or laser training device, and mount a smartphone on a tripod.
NOTES
[1] Firing Distance is the actual indoor distance. Simulated Distance calculated automatically based on target scale before training begins.
[2] The LASERHIT B3 target at a 1:4 scale is recommended; other genuine LASERHIT targets may also be used.
[3] When using your own targets, use a solid, dark target surface for best detection. A LASERHIT reload mark is needed and can be downloaded for free from the LaserHIT website (laserhit.com/targets). Set the correct Target Scale during Firing Range setup before starting the drill.
DRILL DETAILS
This drill is built around real-world defensive shooting data. Research shows that most defensive encounters occur within 3 to 5 yards and typically involve three shots or fewer. A 6-inch group represents a realistic vital-zone accuracy standard. To successfully complete the drill, all three shots must fall within a single 6-inch group.
Goal: 3 shots in 3-inch vital zone at 5 yards

DRILL DETAILS
This drill is inspired by benchrest-style accuracy work, where the goal is repeatable point of impact and clear diagnosis of error. During Express Setup (Step 2), the shooter must manually position the crosshairs precisely at the intended aim point on the target to establish a correct reference. Instead of measuring group size, each shot is evaluated against that exact aim point. After every shot, LASERHIT displays windage (left/right) and elevation (up/down). This makes imperfections measurable, helps identify consistent bias (zero or aiming error), and reinforces disciplined trigger control and sight alignment for practical accuracy.

DRILL DETAILS
This drill is designed to refine core shooting fundamentals through extreme grouping discipline. The emphasis is on trigger control, consistent sight alignment, and maintaining shot-to-shot repeatability across a 10-shot string. A sub-1-inch group at a Range of 7 yards exposes even minor inconsistencies in technique, especially in laser dry-fire where recoil cannot mask errors. Tight grouping validates the shooter’s ability to deliver mechanically consistent shots and establishes the precision foundation required for advanced performance.

DRILL DETAILS
This drill focuses on exact point-of-aim execution rather than group shape. During Express Setup (Step 2), the shooter must precisely position the crosshairs at the intended point of aim to establish a fixed reference. Each shot is evaluated against that reference to reveal directional bias and control errors. A Accuracy under 0.5 inch at a Range of 7 yards demands disciplined trigger control and precise sight management, reinforcing the ability to place shots exactly where intended rather than merely close together.

[2] The LASERHIT B3 target at a 1:4 scale is recommended; other supported LASERHIT B3 variants may also be used.
DRILL DETAILS
This is a home-defense stop-the-threat drill focused on accountable center-mass hits under pressure. It uses a USPSA/IPSC-style silhouette with defined scoring zones, where the A-torso represents the highest-value center-mass hit area. Close-range encounters are common in real defensive situations, and this drill reinforces the core requirement: deliver three controlled hits into the A-torso while managing pace, stress, and shot accountability.

OBJECTIVE
Fire at a single B3 target. Fire three shots in order: two to A-torso, then one to A-head. Time limit: 3 minutes. Range: 7 yards (see Notes [1]).
GOAL
Hit in the correct order: two to A-torso, one to A-head. Two to control. One to stop.
WHAT YOU NEED
LASERHIT B3 target (scaled) and a LASERHIT Training Kit.
Alternatively, print a free B3 target, use your own laser cartridge or laser training device, and mount a smartphone on a tripod.

[2] The LASERHIT B3 target at a 1:4 scale is recommended; other supported LASERHIT B3 variants may also be used.
DRILL DETAILS
The Mozambique drill, also known as Failure to Stop, trains a realistic response when center-mass hits do not immediately neutralize a threat. It develops controlled shot placement, efficient target transitions, and disciplined sight refinement under pressure. In laser dry-fire, it exposes weaknesses in grip recovery, visual focus, and execution that simple accuracy drills cannot reveal.

[3] You can purchase the Handgun Drills set at
www.laserhit.com/products/handgun-drills-target-set
[4] A stable phone position is required. Use a horizontal phone orientation, placed approximately 2–5 feet from the target, with the rear camera facing the target to ensure a clear, consistent view.
DRILL DETAILS
This drill is inspired by traditional dot torture concepts and adapted for a strict hit-or-miss standard. Each target represents a separate decision. Every shot stands alone.
Accuracy is tested shot by shot. Consistency matters more than speed. The drill exposes grip discipline, trigger control, visual patience, and the shooter’s ability to reset between individual engagements.

[4] A stable phone position is required. Use a horizontal phone orientation, placed approximately 2–5 feet from the target, with the rear camera facing the target to ensure a clear, consistent view.
DRILL DETAILS
B3 Torture Zones is a consistency drill, not a speed drill.
Zone scoring forces honesty. A hit anywhere on paper is not treated as good enough. The scoring zones reveal whether your sights are truly settling where you intend, and whether your trigger press remains consistent from target 1 through target 15.
This drill trains three performance habits:
1. Visual discipline: confirming the exact aiming point on every target.
2. Trigger consistency: pressing cleanly without changing the point of impact.
3. Reset control: recovering after each shot and repeating the same execution.
Time is limited to prevent endless over-aiming, but it is long enough to demand patience. Five minutes is a control window, not a rush.

DRILL DETAILS
This drill trains ultimate precision using the ISSF 25 m pistol scoring model. In ISSF competition, precision stages focus entirely on shot placement within concentric scoring rings, where total score reflects consistency and control. Shooters are required to place each shot as close to center as possible, reinforcing sight alignment, trigger control, and follow-through. Achieving a high total score builds the same precision foundation relied upon by competitive pistol shooters and elite marksmen for controlled, repeatable accuracy.

[2] The LASERHIT B-27 target at a 1:5 scale is recommended; other supported LASERHIT B-27 and 25M variants may also be used.
DRILL DETAILS
This drill is inspired by fast-draw competition formats used in WFDA and CFDA events, where performance is measured purely by speed from the draw to the first hit. The fastest clean shot defines success, emphasizing reaction time, draw efficiency, and consistent mechanics. Accuracy requirements are intentionally minimal, placing full focus on speed and execution.
